Jefrey Ho complains that news media, including Newshub, show Covid testing being performed inserting a swab into people’s noses, and people having injections. In his view this is disgusting, unacceptable and causes a lot of stress to viewers.

Mr Ho gives no links to such photographs or footage, but New Zealanders have all become familiar with such material over the course of the last year.

It is unfortunate that perhaps some people are offended by these photos, but we all need to understand the mechanics of Covid testing and a picture tells a thousand words. This is useful and important information on a matter of high public interest. People need to know what a Covid test and vaccination involve even if there is a “yuk factor” involved.
